When I first heard about RenderATL, something stirred in me. As a new techie, I knew there was so much I didn’t know yet — and with AI and technology evolving faster than ever, I felt the nudge to get in the room where things were happening. RenderATL looked like an incredible space to learn, grow, and connect. Let’s be honest… it also looked like a lot of fun!
But more than just the fun or the tech, it aligned perfectly with my vision for the Urban Gospel Network. One of my goals for UGN is to be on the cutting edge — using tech as a tool to empower communities and spread the Gospel creatively and intentionally. This experience was a step toward that vision.
✨ First Impressions: Sensory Overload (In the Best Way)
When I walked into the event, I was instantly hit with sensory overload — but not in a bad way. The energy, the visuals, the sound, the people... it was electric. What truly set it apart from other conferences I’ve attended was the representation. Seeing people who looked like me, talked like me, and were boldly and unapologetically geeked out about tech was heartwarming and affirming.
🌟 The Highlights

Darren Alphonse from Disney speaks on AI and the Entertainment Industry. |
A few moments really stood out. Darren Alphonse from Disney gave a fantastic talk that left me inspired. But one of the most jaw-dropping moments was watching Imad Abusam from Uber build an app using AI — right there on stage. Mind. Blown. These sessions reminded me just how much is possible when knowledge and innovation collide.
Even outside the sessions, the magic didn’t stop. From badge-to-badge convos at the Hard Rock Café to elevator chats with creatives and leaders, I felt like every moment was divinely ordered. I met some amazing people who poured into me, encouraged me to keep pushing UGN forward, and even shared resources to help it grow.
🙏🏾 Tech Meets Faith
This event confirmed something I’ve been sensing for a while: technology is one of the greatest ministry tools of our time. The future of gospel outreach will be deeply intertwined with innovation. Whether it’s using AI to develop faith-based apps, reaching underserved communities digitally, or creating spaces for Black Christian creatives in tech, we have work to do — and tools to do it with.
RenderATL gave me fresh ideas for merging faith and technology more intentionally, and it reminded me that the church must show up in these digital spaces, authentically and boldly.
⚡ The Mission Continues
Through the conversations I had, I was able to speak about faith and social impact in meaningful ways. I didn’t go there looking to preach, but I definitely had church a few times! I was asked tough questions and had real, Spirit-led discussions — and that’s exactly what Urban Gospel Network is about: bridging culture, community, and Christ through modern tools.
🖤 A Message to My Fellow Creatives & Tech Leaders
To all my Black Christian creatives, developers, thinkers, builders, and dreamers:
Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep connecting.
There is room for us. There is need for us. And most importantly, there is purpose for what God is doing through us.
🚀 What’s Next?

Dr. Qui's "My First RenderATL" button, badge, key card, and photo from day 3. |
First things first — I updated my LinkedIn profile 😅 because everybody kept asking for it! {You can add me on LinkedIn here} But beyond that, I’m fired up to apply what I’ve learned and keep showing up in tech spaces as my full self: a woman of faith, a community builder, and a creative force.
If I had to sum it all up?
“Culture and Tech. Absolutely Phenomenal.”
